Select Paint Stores and Lumberyards
TWP is available in select markets and retail stores across the country. Best to contact the manufacturers for possible locations. In many cases, it is not available locally. It may be easier and less expensive to purchase from one of the 2 sites above.
Big Box Stores
TWP is not sold in Home Depot, Lowes, Menards, etc. To do this, TWP would either have to change its formula or move operations offshore, to be competitive with the “big box” brands sold there.

Can 1501 Cedartone be thinned with mineral spirts (or other product) to obtain a lighter color?
No, you cannot thin it. You can lighten the Cedartone by adding the TWP Clear to it.
Is the Restore-A-Deck cleaner the same as a ‘stripper’? product or is there another product that is specifically a ‘wood stripper’? I have not been able to find a ‘wood stripper’.

Which restore a deck is better and the enhancer is better in which. I’ve had to Strip or deck several times in the past with different products the last 3 decades. I used twp 100 and 1500 on my deck lately.
There is only one Restore A Deck Stripper and Brightener Kit, not multiples. They work great to prep.
I seen at least the packaging difference when looking up Restore A Deck when you buy bundles between TWP 100 and a different package when buying TWP1500 and looking further I see an additive that I believe thickens them to make them 300% stronger. I could be wrong. I’ve been looking through different web pages to see what works best and transportation of product. I have to restore our deck every 3 years no mater what product I used in the past in our climate.

Is your TWP product good for rough cut pine timber? Does it come in a clear coat? I want to preserve the rough cut look? If so, which of your products should I use?
You can use it on rough cut pine. Try the TWP 1500 Series. Any of the tinted colors will work and will provide UV protection. A Clear will not provide U protection and the wood will gray in months.

Honeytone is the lightest tint.

I see pro series semi solid says it’s a perservative,is the 1500 series a perservative and available in a semi solid?
The 1500 Series is a preservative and is not available in a semi-solid.
How can I order a sample? Also, I don’t see a “clear” coat n your site. I do not want a color as much as a treatment for the wood. Slightly darker “wet” look is ok.

A clear (no tint at all in the stain) will not provide UV protection. It has to be tinted to prevent UV graying.

can I use the 100 series I live in new Franklin, Ohio? Is there a dealer near me where I can go get stain and not have to wait for delivery? we have power washed our deck there are some places where old stain wouldn’t come up after we finished we now like the look where there are small pieces throughout deck with some stain on it it looks rustic like what some people are doing to there decks as far as burning places in wood to look rustic our deck looks like that but without the burning part. But is it ok to stain over top of the places where stain still secured to the wood or should I use stripper to take all older stain spots off?we are wanting to go with semi transparent like natural or honeytone. we had on it something like cedartone so we are going lighter in color. I like the 2 tone colors of darker places in wood and going lighter in color stain now. but don’t want to leave the old stain on deck in places throughout if it will create me problems in long run even though I like the looks of it. I bought five gallons of clear TWP 100, and just opened it to stain today. I understood that the clear would not be as good as tinted for UV protection, but there is a sticker on the top of the pail (UNDER the receipt, so I didn’t see it until now) that said there is NO UV protection in the stain, so the stain will “allow” the wood to weather to a natural gray. That is not what I want, but I need to stain right away. How long will it take to weather to that natural gray, and if it’s a year or so, can I clean and brighten next year and stain with a tinted color.

I’ve bought 5 gallons of 1500 series TWP3 years ago. This year I started putting it on and it seems thick and goes on very hard I have done all of the steps that I’m supposed to do but now it doesn’t look like it’s drying. Can it be thin down? What has made it this way? Will it actually eventually dry?
The stain does have a shelf life so it may have gone bad. You cannot thin it. Hopefully, it dries, if it does not, you will need to strip it off and start over.
Thank you so much for your quick response. I was disappointed to say the least that I had to strip again after working all day yesterday putting new stain on. So much for buying 5 gallons to save money over the long haul. Because you answered so promptly, I was able to go to the Village Hardware and buy more supplies. And I bought an extension gadget that could have a large brush attached, and my husband and I just finished the re-stripping. It saved all that work on the knees.

Wanted to find out if you are using 1500 pecan over cedar siding that was previously stained with WP pecan, are there any problems. Also would like not to darken color so wanted to find out if one could dilute 1500 pecan with 1500 natural would that achieve lightening color.
