We are stripping our deck from stain that went on more like paint and want to prevent that mistake again. The numerous spindles do not have to be stripped as they are not weathered much. The spindles are more of a redwood color (Behr brand). Cannot decide between the 1502 redwood, 1511 California redwood, or the 1516 Rustic. Online the 1502 looks very red and the other two look more brown but on my phone the 1502 and the 1516 look reddish with the 1516 looking more subdued. How do you send samples? Are they small cans?

I had a new cedar deck built and applied stain after a month or so of the boards being exposed to the elements. I was advised by the builder a month was long enough to wait otherwise said 6 months.
Result, un even color. I have reapplied once more since then but have been in happy with the look. Do I need to sand and start over or shall I just reapply over and accept what I have.

Last fall, I applied the 1500 on my deckboards, after stripping,cleaning and brightening. We had an exceptionally wet season and unexpected rain fell immediately on my 2nd coat. Looked ok. However,after only the 1st month of summer, the stain looks quite bleached out. Since I believe the deck does have some protection, I plan on applying only 1 coat. Seem ok?
LOGICALLY, I DIDN’T THINK YOU COULD SWITCH TO THE 100, FROM THE 1500, WITHOUT STRIPPING, ETC FOR NEW START OVER. JUST WANTED TO VERIFY THIS. THANK YOU.
Lightly clean to remove any dirt and apply a light coat of the 1500. You would have to strip if you wanted to switch to the 100 Series.

I am using TWP 100. I have pressure washed a new deck seasoned since last summer. I used a brighter let it rest for 30 minutes, washed it again, let it dry for two days in hot sun, started staining. It looked great until the sun hit it and it’s turning grey again. What did I do wrong?
