What do I do now,? I’ve been waiting , 4 years to get this done now it rains unexpectedly. Ty he part he had don still looks so much better than before.. it’s about an hour after it stopped raining
.
This is my retirement home. I want as little maintenance as possible in future… Do I need to do anything to protect this from the rain it unexpectedly got before frying.. advise appreciated..
I was not at home before he left so I have not yet talked to him about what I need to do now.

Post some pics of the deck after the rain stops and the water dries off the deck.
I am using TPW 100 on new cypress outdoor furniture. What finish should I apply after staining?
Thank You.
You cannot top coat over the TWP.
Thank you.
I live in Oregon. I applied TWP 100 Cedartone on my fence 5 years ago. It has held up great. the stain is starting to break down in some places and I need to reapply stain. Do I need to strip the TWP 100 off or should I clean and brighten the fence and apply a coat over the top? Any advice on prep and reapplication would be great.
I was very happy with the TWP 100. Should I continue to use the TWP 100 or switch to the TWP 1500?
Last question. I have the BEHR water based semi-transparent stain on a separate fence. Does your RAD stripper remove this product? It is peeling and not peeling at the same time.
Use the kit while pressure washing for prep: https://www.twpstain.com/gemini-s-restore-a-deck-cleaner-and-brightener-kit
Stick with the TWP 100. We would need to see pictures of the other fence.
I have cypress posts and shutters my husband is building. We have been told to stain these and not use any type of polyurethane or sealers. Is TWP a good choice for staining our cypress posts? A friend recommended it and also
Wolman’s F&P stain. I do not want to mess up our posts. We have six total to stain.
Yes, TWP works well for this.
I have been using TWP99 for years with very good results. It is a clear base that requires tinting. (Local paint store was tinting but no longer carries it.). Is TWP99 still available? If not, could I substitute one of the TWP pre-color versions? Which is closer / similar to TWP99 – your 100 or 1500 series? Thanks!
Sorry, but the answer is no to both. You would have to remove and then start fresh with the TWP 100 Series.
Can TWP 100 series be shipped to Indiana?
No. The TWP 1500 can.
Thank you for your response. My question is our 750 sq ft 20 year old deck will have new pressure treated pine which is just a few benches and maybe 20 or so new boards. We plan on stripping and sanding the old wood as needed before staining. We were told this wood is dry and we would not need to wait until next spring to stain. Is that correct? I realize we must stain clean and brighten first.
I have a 20 year old 750 sq foot deck. I plan on 1.sanding down some 2.strip to get what ever old stain remains. This may take a few weeks to get it done. Then 3.put the cleaner Deck wash and Brightener on. At this point how long do I have before I have to put the stain on??
I also will have some new replacement pressure treated boards and benches are treated differently than they were years ago, and that you don’t have to weight 6 mo. to a year to dry out before you can stain them . Is this correct?
No, you still have to weather and prep: https://twpstainhelp.com/prepping-new-wood-for-twp-stains/
Let dry for 48 hours. Stain within 2 weeks.
Can a sealer like Thompson’s Water Seal be applied over the TWP 100 series Rustic colored deck stain after the stain has been on my deck for a couple months?
No. You cannot topcoat or add a sealer over a deck stain.
Hi- Can TWP 100 be used in New Jersey? If not, you recommend TWP 1500 series? This is for a deck on wooded lot which gets a lot of sun. Thanks!
Only 1500 Series is allowed in NJ.
I need the correct color for my HOA. Behr 501 Natural Cedar (oil based) Deck stain/sealer. Can your product be mixed to get this color?
Sorry but no it cannot.
I finished staining my deck with TWP-100. I am wondering if it wise to put a coat of clear urethane on top of this to protect the deck even longer?
No, do not do this. You cannot top coat a deck stain like TWP and the poly will peel on exterior wood.
will the clear 100 series prevent ceder wood from turning gray? or at least will it prolong the look of the new wood?
No. The clear will gray naturally. The rest of the colors will provide UV protection.
Howdy,
We are currently working on a 600 sf redwood deck that is 18 yrs old and had a poor quality stain applied approx 5 years ago. were using strip ease and ctriastrip to get through the old material and then sanding, was wondering what is recommended after were done, what steps and products, the 100 or the 1500?
Final prep with our Gemini Restore Kit after all of the old coating is removed. Use either the TWP 100 or the 1500 based on what your state VOC limits allow.
Will your company mix 2 colors as a custom request?
Hello, sorry but no, we do not custom mix.
Which color would you recommend being as close to after rain wood color?
Honeytone.
I just had an 8′ wood fence installed and would like to know if the weathering time is the same 4-12 months as a deck. Thank you!
Is the fence wood rough sawn cut or smooth cut?
I am not sure of the difference? Here are pictures of that helps.
That is smooth PTP wood. You will need to wait the 4-12 months and prep first with the Gemini Restore Kit before using the TWP.
Can I purchase color samples to try to get the best shade?
Yes. On this link: https://www.twpstain.com/stain-samples
